While we wait, the Earth preparing

      Soil again, renewing life. 

      Then the daffodils remind us

      As the joy cuts like a knife.

     'Neath the soil the bulbs expanding

      Quantum-like they seem to grow.

       Forsythia spilling through the fence,

       Seems as if, somehow, they know.

     It's Spring at last!

     Our darkness is passed!
