Just Wondering . . .

Just wondering . . .

'Does God need friends?'

As she took the last sip of her morning coffee, a little question popped up. 'No, not really'. As she mused a while, it proved to be a very BIG question!

Well, no, she whispered, God doesn't need friends in order to BE God. He is the Creator. Everything began through Him and comes through Him.

But there's another part, she said to herself. This completely powerful God Who created her, wanted her in close relationship with Him! His Son, Jesus of Nazareth called God His Father. He said that God was also OUR FATHER! Now, that is awesome!

The lady smiled, then laughed, as she cleaned up the breakfast dishes.

'What do 'friends' do?'

Hmmm . . . let's see.

They want to spend time together, sharing their thoughts, their feelings and their dreams with one another.

They grow to trust one another - depend on each other.

Over time, their friendship grows into love.

'This rarely happens in human relationships' she thought to herself. Faithfulness in friendship, in the family, and in the marriage relationship is seldom possible except with people of Judeo-Christian experience, character and training.

We are all sinners and need to surrender our lives, our desires, our relationships to the will of our Heavenly Father.

Then the lady opened her computer and read the posting on the ElijahList by Garris Elkins.

Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.
