Do You 'Have Standing' in the Court of Heaven?

Do You

"HAVE STANDING"

In the Court of Heaven?

Over the last few years there have been published reports of attempts to bring legal cases to court that would not be accepted by the sitting judge.

Why? The judge declared in each of these cases, that the plaintiff(s) did not "have standing".

We wondered what this meant, and now we understand it:

The plaintiff must have a related experience to "have standing". Only then are they qualified to bring the case before the court.

Let's consider this parable --

In the incomparable "Sermon on the Mount" (Matthew 5, 6 and 7), Jesus taught his disciples the foundational Truth of the kingdom of heaven.

According to Matthew's Gospel, The Lord summed up this teaching as follows:

The Two Foundations

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell-and great was its fall."

When Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching;

for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

Matthew 7:24-29

A solid rock will support your house in a storm --

but a sand dune?

Don't know about you, but we're going to read, re-read, and

re-read again the Sermon on the Mount, and learn to obey it.

Then we will live it and prove its eternal Truth,

one lesson at a time.

Jesus (Yeshua) "had standing" with His Heavenly Father

because He was an obedient Son. His example shows us how we also may "have standing" as we come into His Throne Room and petition Him.

The eternal covenant through the Blood of Jesus

shed upon the Cross of Calvary,

and our obedience to God's Word

grant us gracious entry to Our Father's courtroom.

There is no other way,

because Yeshua/Jesus is the DOOR!

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.

Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.

Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.

For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.

Psalm 100  (NASB)

If we indeed "have standing" in heaven's court,

let us continually go there in the Joy of the Lord!
